Researchers Confirm THIS Link Between Alzheimer's Disease and Coconut Oil!

Alzheimer's Disease: What If There Was A Cure? That's the title of a book by Dr. Mary Newport. In that book, she shares her belief that coconut oil ( click here for International products) could be an effective treatment for Alzheimer's. But this isn't just speculation on her part; she's seen it work – in her husband, whose Alzheimer's symptoms were greatly reduced by the simple act of swallowing coconut oil daily. Of course, as informative as Dr. Newport's book may have been, the medical and scientific communities weren't quite sold on her beliefs. After all, no peer-reviewed studies had been conducted on the topic. Until recently, that is.

The Evidence For Coconut Oil As An Alzheimer's Treatment

shutterstock_216984226 (1) At the end of 2015, a study confirming coconut oil as a potential Alzheimer's treatment was published in the Spanish journal Nutricón Hospitalaria. During the study period, researchers followed a group of Alzheimer's patients, half of which were given 40 ml of extra virgin coconut oil (roughly 3 tablespoons) daily. Researchers observed a 'statistically significant increase' in cognitive ability among women, patients without diabetes and those with severe dementia. This is, of course, absolutely huge.Alzheimer's currently effects more than 5 million Americans. It's estimated that by 2050, that number will skyrocket to 13.8 million. The current average life expectancy for the disease is a mere 10 years. Those are some pretty dark numbers. Will coconut oil lighten things up a bit? It could – as long as our government doesn't send it the way of vitamin B17, the banned vitamin that can treat cancer. Remember; Alzheimer's – like all other common diseases – is big business.

How Does Coconut Oil Treat Alzheimer's, Anyway?

Alzheimer's According to Dr. Newport's theory – which stands tall in light of the Spanish study – it's all got to do with ketones. The human body creates ketones by breaking down the fat in foods like coconut oil. The ketones then travel to the brain, where they can be converted into energy far more efficiently than glucose, the body's typical fuel. This is important, because Alzheimer's occurs precisely when the brain is unable to produce the energy required to stimulate new cell growth and repair damage. Currently, a diet rich in high-fat (naturalfat) foods like coconut oil is the method we know of getting the brain's energy back up to a healthy level. The body can also create ketones through fasting, but that's impractical for long-term treatment.
