Dates provide a natural source of energy due to their high carbohydrate content. And they are packed with vitamins and minerals like potassium and magnesium, benefiting muscle function and electrolyte balance. In fact, John Gray, the author of Men are From Mars Women are From Venus, noted that eating dates can help regulate hormonal balance in women due to their rich nutritional content, including minerals like potassium and magnesium. Vitamins B-complex and C are the major vitamins in dates. High in dietary fiber (8.0 g/100 g), insoluble dietary fiber was the major fraction of dietary fiber in dates. Dates are a good source of antioxidants, mainly carotenoids and phenolics. (2)

Raw honey, in particular, boasts antimicrobial and antibacterial properties, contains enzymes and serves as natural energy booster. Additionally, raw honey possesses prebiotic properties, nourishing beneficial gut bacteria and supporting digestive health. Some of the vitamins found in honey include ascorbic acid, pantothenic acid, niacin and riboflavin; along with minerals such as calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, and zinc. The other constituents of honey are amino acids, antibiotic-rich inhibin, proteins, phenol antioxidants, and micronutrients. (4)

- Put almond butter, almonds, oats, maca, raw honey and dates in a 11-cup food processor. Mix for several minutes until a sticky grainy texture is achieved.
