Poodle Roo is a beautiful little rooster, but he once baffled the workers at Apricot Lane Farms. Unlike most chickens and roosters, Poodle Roo would never go into the chicken coop when it got dark. He would instead stay out in the field where any predator could grab him. This lead to multiple nightly search parties, and, eventually they decided he should stay in the barn for awhile.
No one knew why Poodle Roo wasn’t going into the coop at night, but they chose to return him a month later. They reintroduced him at night thinking he would be safe from the other roosters because all the chickens were asleep. They were wrong. They found Poodle Roo the next morning, bleeding. The other roosters had beaten him up, and he lost a lot of blood. They were unsure if he was going to make it.
Miraculously, he recovered much faster than expected. They also found out why he would not go into the coop at night.
