No one likes static electricity. I tend to always get shocked, and it hurts every time. Fabric softeners and dryer sheets will fix the problem, but they can be expensive, and I'm not usually a fan of the scents they contain.
Dryer sheets cannot only clog your lint filter without your knowledge, they are also a leading cause of indoor air pollution.
“A single fragrance in a product can contain a mixture of hundreds of chemicals, some of which (e.g., limonene, a citrus scent) react with ozone in ambient air to form dangerous secondary pollutants, including formaldehyde.” (source)
One way to remove a portion of this problem is to get rid of fabric softeners, but this brings us back to the whole static cling problem that comes with dryers and clothes.
